For me, it&#8217;s a feeling of appreciation, recognition, love, and it supports my inner strength. But it&#8217;s not just the gaze of others that counts: our benevolent view of ourselves also significantly shapes our relationships.  <\/p>\n\n<p>In my counseling, it consistently shows that couples and individuals who regularly acknowledge their own strengths and those of their partner are more satisfied, more connected, and emotionally more stable.<\/p>\n\n<p><strong>What does \u201c\u201d<\/strong><strong>Positive Seeing mean?<\/strong> It is a central approach by Prof. Guy Bodenmann in his book \u201cBefore Stress Divides Us\u201d and addresses precisely that:<\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Recalling the beginnings of the relationship<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The loving gaze through \u201crose-tinted glasses\u201d<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Consciously fostering gratitude and acceptance<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<p>(Bodenmann, 2016)<\/p>\n\n<p><strong>How do we strengthen our connection?<\/strong> From my perspective, seeing the positive and creating small moments that provide energy helps to foster closeness and connection. So, how about a: <\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Walk hand in hand<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Conversation with mutual interest<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Small gift or a spontaneous hug<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Phrase: <em>\u201cI see you.\u201d<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<p>In my counseling, we jointly activate resources \u2013 individually or as a couple. This creates new experiences that not only interrupt the negative spiral but also create genuine space for connection and joy. <\/p>\n\n<p><strong>Questions we explore together:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>How do we show each other appreciation \u2013 beyond routine?<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>What strengthens our connection in everyday life?<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>What is already positive \u2013 and how can we consciously use it?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<p>Source: Bodenmann, G.
